Beth Hepler

Director of Child Development

Beth Hepler was appointed in the summer of 2006 to begin a Preschool program for First UMC. When our day care ministry entered their new facilities on April 16, 2007, she assumed the duties of director of The Children's Center, which encompasses both our preschool and day care ministries.

Beth is a native of New Albany, Indiana. She is married to Rev. Jim Hepler, our parish musician, and they are parents of three grown children: Jamie, who lives in Asheville, NC; Amy Beth, who is a 2007 graduate of Coastal Carolina University; and Matthew of the home. They have lived in Pennsylvania, and have made Bennettsville their home since 1994.

Beth began early childhood work at Sunflower, a day care program associated with Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. She has completed an Early Childhood Development certificate at Northeastern Technical College, and for eight years directed the First Presbyterian Day School in Bennettsville. For one year she operated a private program, The Children's Place, which was merged into the Early Childhood Ministry of First United Methodist Church.
