Director of Music Ministries/Organist
Jim began his ministry at First United Methodist Church in August 1999.
Jim is currently serving as Chair of the Keyboard Interest Area for The Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts on the national level. He has served as Sub-Dean of the Greater Columbia chapter of the American Guild of Organists, and is a past President of the S.C. Fellowship of United Methodists in Music and Worship Arts.
His wife, Beth, is the Director of the FUMC Early Childhood ministry. They are the parents of three grown children: Jamie, Amy Beth and Matthew.
Jim directs the choral and instrumental ministries of the church, and serves as organist. He also has a background in pastoral ministries, and assists the pastor in ministering to the parish families.
Jim has served churches in Indiana, Pennsylvania and South Carolina. He occasionally assists churches in designing organs, and is sometimes featured as a recitalist.
His favorite hobby is genealogy, and he has worked extensively on his family lines and those of his wife.
